PARKS, TRAILS &

PUBLIC

LANDS

District 3 is fortunate to have some of the most unique parks, trails, and public lands in the county—from Memory Grove and Ensign Peak to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail and the Wasatch Foothills. Enjoyment of these and other public places is a fundamental part of Salt Lake City's economy and our culture. Chris will always work to preserve parks and public lands for generations to come. He has consistently voted to support our parks by restoring and expanding critical maintenance operations while opposing development interests that would exploit or limit access to the public.

  • Chris led the counsel in adopting the Cemetery Master Plan and helped found the Friends of the Salt Lake City Cemetery.

  • With the use of capital improvement funds, Chris secured over $100,000 to improve baseball fields and build new concession stands at Lindsey Gardens.

  • Chris supports sustainable, equitable, community-focused implementation of the Trails Master Plan for all residents and users.

  • In 2018, Chris helped find funding for dozens acres of public lands that had gone without maintenance for several years.

  • Chris also secured funding for the creation of a designated off-leash dog area at Warm Springs Park (coming in 2021).
